A Great Day to be a Panther

Do you know why today was a great day to be a Panther?

Is it because all of our friends give every game 100% and always help out?
Check out Aaron, Daniel, Jace, Justin & TJ clearing this ball out of the Zone.

Is it because you can count on Lawrence to deek out the other kids to get the ball up the field, or that you know Ryan will steal the ball?

Is it because you know you've got the best goalies in the league ready to stop any shots that get by our defense?

Is today a great day to be a Panther because you know that friends like JJ and Matt will try their hardest to get you the ball, and are waaaaay excited when you score?

Or is it because you've got confidence in your teammates to know that they've got some mad skillz? Jace, Daniel, Lawrence, Matt, Aaron & Lawrence displayed these skillz today!

Or is it because friends like JJ, TJ, Mark, Jace & Dylan play defense like wild animals and love to steal the ball?
Is it because you have coaches that are here to support you with positivity and allow you to be better... (and thank goodness they don't yell at you like crazy dudes! Here's Coach Mark's impersonation of some crazy coach dude!)

Is it because your parents and family cheer so loudly when the Panthers score?

Or is it really because we have the best snacks and tunnels?

You know what... I agree with you. It's really all of these things that make today

A GREAT DAY TO BE A PANTHER!

Ice Cream Saturday

Since you boys have been playing so hard -

let's go celebrate with some

Ice Cream

at Cold Cow after the game Saturday!

And guess what - since the parent have been putting in quarters for every goal your team scores, we can buy everyone whatever ice cream you want!

Run, Run , Run as Fast as You Can!

The Panthers put on a show for the parents on Wednesday as they scored 5 goals!

Matt started things off by bringing the ball down the field and getting one past the goalie.

Then Aaron raced past the defense to put in a hard shot that went through the goalie's hands.

Mark played defense like a... Panther! He stayed in his position and controlled the ball anytime it entered the zone.

TJ intercepted a few passes and kicked them to the moon!

Ryan turned on the afterburners, took the pass from Jace and whipped around to place a beautiful kick solidly in the back of the net!

Then the Panthers started racing to the ball and kicking it up field. Check out the pressure by Lawrence, Derek, Matt & TJ!

Mitch and Aaron kept the ball away from the other team - check out this great teamwork!

Jace ran up and down the field, made some great passes and put in a rolling shot that fooled the goalie... JJ made sure that ball was going in the net!

Then JJ made no mistake about getting his first goal of the season by kicking one 100 miles per hour from right in front of the goal.

Mitch reeled back for a HUGE throw as Coach Mike makes sure that he keeps his feet down.

The Panthers decided it was time to put more pressure on the bad guys as they teamed up to steal the ball time and time again! Mark gets in perfect position to take this ball away as Derek and Justin come to assist.

Mitch decided to use the Force on this ball... seriously Mitch, you can just kick it! hahaha
Lawrence took away another would-be goal from the opposition, and showed his ball handling skills as he raced up the field!
Justin got on his horse and galloped up the field to get a chance at another goal!

Lawrence & Mark did a really nice job playing goalie. Thanks for the help in keeping this one away from the net boys!

Coach Mark begs to go get ice cream after the game while Coach Mike congratulates the boys and tells them where they need to be for the last quarter of the game.

Way to go Panthers! A nice win! Since you play so hard every game, let's go get some ice cream after Saturday's game!

Look Who's Steppin' Up!

In this hard-fought victorious game against the gray team, the Panthers not only scored some pretty sweet goals but also showed off some mad soccer skills!

Justin showed that he knows how to put himself in the right position to get his second goal in two games thanks to some great pressure and passing from Matt, Dylan & Aaron .

JJ played very smart today as he knew exactly where to throw it in and had the funniest play of the day when Vaughn (on the grey team) was charging in with the ball. JJ calmly said, "Hi Vaughn!", then stole the ball from him and booted it up the field! Nice job JJ!

Matt had some nice stops and booted a few kicks down the field today to help his team. Check out this nice kick as JJ gets ready to play it. Matt - way to be - we hear you talking to your teammates and giving them a lot of confidence - well done!

Mark played some solid defense today by immediately turning up field with a solid shot. See the way Mark put himself between the ball and the grey guy... this is perfect form to keep the ball away from your opponents!

Looks like this little girl on the sidelines has seen Mark kick the ball before - check out how she's taking cover!

Dylan wasted no time running down the ball today. His speed reallty helped to stop the gray team, and give us momentum going the opther way!

TJ showed up just in time to join us for a tough fourth quarter. Nice kicks out there TJ - way to cut the ball off and boot it down the field!

Mitch, Derek & Mark got a front row seat for this kick from TJ!

Jace jumped in to get a sweet goal from the right side, then got a SportCenter highlight goal when he deeked out the goalie and made the defender miss big time to score his second!

Looks like Jace and Mark know exactly how to shut down the gray team.

Mitch got about 14 gazillion steals today by never quitting on the play! He stopped two odd man rushes, and booted it back to JJ and Sam to get it up field.

Aaron got in some nice kicks on goal and a sweet steal today, and managed to put in a solid goal thanks to his Panther buddies Lawrence, Dylan and Sam.

Daniel jumped in and got a few shots on goal today....ooooo, if this goalie dropped Jace's shot, you know that Daniel would've put that one in!

Ryan got two nice shots towrd the goal today, and had a great stop as the gray team brought in three guys.

And I wouldn't be a coach if I didn't take a few seconds to show you some skeeeelz that you're learning...check it out:

See how your teammates are spreading out? Look at this shot from Aaron - if this ball bounces off the goalie, it's easy to see how Lawrence, Dylan or Sam could get an easy goal!

And see how you can get opportunities even when the other team is throwing in the ball? Watch where your opponents are standing and where the boy throwing in the ball is looking... and you'll get some easy steals!
And check out JJ and Sam here - as Aaron takes it up the field, they know that they need to spread out to give the Panthers the best opportunity to score!

When one of your teammates is throwing in the ball (like JJ here), be sure to come really close to the ball. Then when the person throwing in the ball says go, run toward the goal and he can throw it right over your head to give you a great shot on goal!

Ok, last one - when a Panther shoots on the goalie, all forwards must run hard toward the net. Because if the goalie drops it, you'll get yourself a really easy goal!
Great game boys! Shall we do it again on Wednesday? Well, of course!
